In Brief:
The Invenesis tick egg-to-larvae tarsal assays evaluates the effect of a treated surface on larvae of hard ticks.
Tick eggs are distributed on a treated surface and left to incubate for approximately one month until the larvae hatch. Motility of the ticks is quantified by machine vision. Motility scores are normalised with negative controls and expressed as percentage efficacy (100 % means no movement is observed).
